Reflection: Mathematical modelling? Mathematical world building/worlding?

I have been reflecting on the idea of mathematical modelling. To what extent we were creating mathematical models in our working groups? Another term associated/related to modelling is mathematization (coming from Freudenthal).

Both ideas are extractive: we are looking at nature/reality/complex situation and we take what we want from it.

In yesterday's small topic section, de Freitas talked about "ethical erasure" that happens in modelling and problem solving. For example, when you construct a leaf- what are you ignoring? How is this act of ignoring ethical or unethical?

de Freitas talked about world building or "worlding" as alternative to modelling. I am still thinking about this- but weren't we World-building through our poems?

When does modelling become world-building? Or is building also problematic? Do we need to build new worlds when we have the worlds of leaves, bees, trees, etc.

 Is modelling world-bridging?
